Yesterday, Apple Inc. introduced their new editions to the Apple family. The presentation was given by none other than “Zen Master”, as Bono stated, and software creation genius, Tim Cook , along with many other executives from the Apple team. Apple will release two new iPhones. As predicted they will be available in two sizes; iPhone 6 in 4.7 inches and iPhone Plus in 5.5 inches. The iPhone 6 will start at $199 and be available September 19th. It will come with an all new design, in three different colors. The new phones come with a retina HD display, A8 processor, new barometer, installed with iOS 8 and more.
With an improved iSight camera and ability to take amazing noise reduced HD video, the iPhones can now take great photos for low light with their new built in sensor. The graphics are an incredible 84 times faster than the original iPhone and has more pixels than ever before. The iPhone 6 has over one million pixels and the iPhone 6 Plus has over two million pixels. The iPhone 6 supports over 200 LTE carriers around the world, including all three in China.
The next addition to the Apple family is the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is a personal device that is as they call it “functional, beautiful, powerful and enriching”. It will come in three versions: the Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition. Apple Watch requires the use of an iPhone, but it also works with iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6 and 6 plus, which means that more than 200 million people already have the capability to use it. It uses your iPhones wifi and GPS and will come with a sleek and sexy magnetic charger that of course only apple could design. The watch it extremely customizable, with optional interchangeable wristbands. With it you can make calls, check emails, control your Apple TV and much more. The Apple Watch will start at $349 and will be available in 2015. It’s the Jaw Bone, the Samsung Watch and the iPhone all into one. Here at Service Nerd we’re drooling over the Apple Watch.
Apple has also come out with a new apps and new features. One of the most talked about newly release apps is the Health app. The Health app shows real-time stats such as calories, time, distance and pace for your workouts. You can set goals, chart your progress and earn awards as you track specific workouts, such as running, walking and cycling. You can even measure the amount of time you sit and stand for. The fitness app is made for use on the Apple watch as well. One of the new features they created is Apple Pay. With the new feature Apple Pay, you can say goodbye to your need for a wallet. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will change the way you pay for things forever. Apple Pay will of course work with Apple Watch. By just waving your Apple device over a scanner you can pay for all your needs. Your phone and watch can contain your bank accounts and credit card information. Apple Pay will be available in the U.S. in October 2014, and work is underway to take it worldwide in the near future. Apple pay is currently available with many companies, some of which include Panera, Nike, Macys, Sephora, Apple of course and more. By the end of the year Disney, Nordtroms, UBER, Groupon, Starbucks, Target and other companies will be on board. There are currently over 200,000 merchants with Apple Pay ability.
As a side note half a billion people who use iTunes were sent U2s new album “Songs of Innocence” for free. This made music history as it is the largest album release of all time. iTunes is available in 119 countries and the album will only be available for free with Apple until mid October. If you join with iTunes before then you get the album for free. Keep a lookout for a new blog on the Apple release and you’ll get a more in depth description of the new Apple family.
